		Sri Lankan Dinner 2005 Schedule: 23 April 2005, 7pm Venue: Birchington Village Hall Map: Venue map not available Event Type: Dinner & music Event Scale: 100 Entrance Fee: £10 An opportunity to enjoy a social evening of traditional Sri Lankan culinary delights accompanied by Sri Lankan music. There was a raffle and the winner of the DVD player prize from the 'Guess the Air Miles' competition was also drawn. The evening was the first KASTDA fund-raising event, and £3500 was raised.

		Wine & Wisdom Evening Schedule: 18 June 2005, 19:30 Venue: The Church House, Kent Gardens, Birchington Map: Venue map not available Event Type: Wine & Cheese Event Scale: 100 Entrance Fee: £5 This KASTDA event raised £1,500 to suport Sri Lankan orphans.

		Summer Cricket Match Schedule: 20 August 2005, 10:00 - 16:00 Venue: St Lawrence Junior School Ground, Ramsgate Map: Venue map not available Event Type: Cricket Match Event Scale: 100 Entrance Fee: £4.00 A cricket match was held at the St Lawrence Junior School Grounds in Ramsagte between 10:00 and 16:00 on Saturday 20-August-2005 to raise funds to support the children orphaned by the Boxing Day 2004 Tsunami. The teams consisted of children and adults, and the trophy was awarded to the captain of the winning team by David Fletcher.

		Canterbury Cultural Evening Schedule: 22 October 2005, 19:30 - 22:30 Venue: Chaucer Technology School, Canterbury, Kent, UK Map: Venue map not available Event Type: Sit-down Dinner & bar, with cultural dance & music Event Scale: 230 tickets Entrance Fee: £15 The Canterbury Cultural Event was an evening of Sri Lankan cuisine & culture held in Canterbury, Kent (UK) on 22-Oct-05, and organised by KASTDA, a UK-based charity supporting Sri Lankan children orphaned by the Dec-26 Tsunami. "This is the biggest fund-raising event organised by the KASTDA so far. This event raised a net total of £4700 to the KASTDA Fund." Cuisine: A range of the finest Sri Lankan dishes was available with Silver Service.. Bar: The bar was open throughout the evening for wine & other drinks. Traditional Sri Lankan Dance, Music, Ritual & Custom Guests experienced the beautiful art & tradition of Sri Lankan dance, music & ritual: Lighting the Oil Lamp, Puja Dance, Harvest Dance, Fisherman's Dance, Tea Picker's Dance, Kandyan Dance, Devil Dance & Karnatic Music Venue: The event was held in the spacious and well-equipped conference centre. 		Tsunami Remembrance Day 2005 Schedule: 26 December 2005, 10:30am Venue: Royal Esplanade promenade car park at the end of Barnes Avenue in Westbrook Map: Venue map not available Event Type: Open Air Event Scale: Flexible Entrance Fee: FREE All were welcome to a Tsunami Remembrance Day ceremony that was held at 10:30am on Dec-26 on the Royal Esplanade promenade car park at the end of Barnes Avenue in Westbrook, Kent, UK. A wreath was laid on the sea in memory of those of all nationalities who died, & balloons were released in recognition of Sri Lankan & UK unity in the face of this tradegy. It is inevitable that, even after a tragedy of this scale, world interest and the focus of the media moves on as people re-build their own lives or face their own problems. That is why it is so important that KASTDA seeks to maintain the focus of attention on the orphaned children of the Tsunami and tries to ensure that not just their present but their future is provided for.”
